There are many issues that hypnotherapy can help with and The Hypnotherapy Initiative welcomes all enquiries. We have a strong code of ethics and will only work with clients and issues that, in our professional judgement, we deem suitable for hypnotherapy.
We offer hypnotherapy either face to face in a treatment room, online, in the comfort of your own home or as a client led programme, done with recordings in your own time and at your own pace.
The Hypnotherapy Initiative offers tailored made treatment plans, taking the client’s individual needs into account. This plan will be discussed with the client and only put in to action once the client is happy to proceed.
Typically a treatment plan will consist of an initial consultation, followed by 4 - 8 sessions of hypnotherapy. Included in the treatment plan will be MP3 recordings for the client to use in their own time. We also offer on-going hypnotherapy to suit the client’s needs.
What is hypnotherapy and how does it work?
Hypnotherapy is a form of therapy that uses hypnosis, or a deep state of relaxation, to help treat a wide range of mental and physical health symptoms and conditions. This can vary from treating the symptoms of chronic pain, to phobias such as fear of flying, to helping clients with lack of motivation or severe exam nerves, plus much more.
During hypnosis, a person will be encouraged to relax using different methods, including deep breathing, visualisations, progressive muscle relaxation (this is when a person consciously relaxes each part of their body until they are in a deep state of relaxation). During hypnotherapy, you are always in control of what is going on, and although you may feel incredibly relaxed and even sleepy, you can very easily bring yourself out of a hypnotic state.
As the body and mind relax, our brain waves slow down, and this is when the subconscious mind becomes more accessible. It is now that suggestions can be made that will be planted in our subconscious mind, which can bring about change and have a lasting impact on our behaviour and thoughts.
